Ba mhaith linn céad míle fáilte a chur roimh na seoltóirí go léir a bheidh ag traenál agus ag rásaíocht in Bá na Gallimhe an tseachtain seo chugainn. Welcome to all the 420 and Fireball sailors who will be arriving in Galway for next week's 420 Connacht Championships, Fireball Open Championships and 420 Class Association Training.

Information for Visiting Boats

The club will be open from 5pm on Tuesday, June 18th for 420s arriving prior to the class association training. Please contact John Barry or Laurik Mathieu if you wish to access the club earlier. Visiting boats can be stored in the dinghy park to the west of the club driveway. Road trailers may be left in the cruiser park to the east of the clubhouse. The cruiser park will be locked when possible, however GBSC cannot accept responsibility for boats and trailers stored on club grounds. Visiting boats are welcome to join the club dinghy racing on Tuesday. First gun is at 18.55.

The club will be open from 4pm on Friday for all boats participating in the weekend Regatta. Again, dinghies may use the dinghy park to the west of the driveway and trailers may be left in the cruiser park. There will be social sailing on Friday evening from about 6pm. Visiting boats are welcome to join us on the water. If you haven't already registered, please register online as soon as possible.

Bar and Catering

Light lunches will be provided for participants in the 420 training from Wednesday to Thursday. Parents are welcome to join us in the clubhouse for teas and coffees each morning and the Seahorse Café at the front of the club will be open throughout the week. The bar will be open on Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday evenings.

There will be dinner available at the clubhouse on Saturday evening. This must be booked in advance using the online booking. Please try to book as early as possible so we have accurate numbers for the caterers.

Camping

Visitors are welcome to camp at the club. Campers for the 420 training may use the grassy area to the east of the clubhouse. Camping space will be available in the field to the west of the clubhouse on Friday and Saturday night. We are very grateful to our neighbours for allowing us to use their property, so please do not interfere with fences, walls or gates.

Local Facilities

For boat parts or chandlery supplies, contact Galway Maritime in Galway City. The nearest shop and service station is Grealy's in Maree which is about 3km from the club. The nearest supermarkets, bars, restaurants, banks, etc. are in Oranmore which is about 4km from the club.

Regatta Documentation

The Notice of Race and Sailing Instructions for the event may be downloaded from the GBSC website. Please read as it's always better to follow the Sailing Instructions than the boat in front of you!

Tá súil againn go mbainfidh sibh go léir taitneamh as bhur turas to dtí an Iarthair agus go mbeidh gaoth deas agaibh le linn na seachtaine.
