Adult Sit-on Kayak Introduction

Adult Kayak Introduction

This course serves as a basic introduction to Sit-on Kayaking, with a key focus on safety and enjoyment.

The course is given by fully qualified adult instructors in the safe and scenic waters in Renville.

 

Objective 

By the end of this course the participant should have learnt:

  • Basic safety rules of kayaking.

  • Fundamental paddle strokes

  • Basic kayak handling skills 

  • Control a kayak safely in calm conditions.

  • Progress to Sit-in Kayak

Previous knowledge or experience

No prior experience or knowledge is required

 

Equipment

Buoyancy aids are provided by GBSC. Wetsuits are available but if sailors have their own wetsuits and boots, that is preferable for their comfort.


Duration:  

Various formats from evenings, weekends morning or weekend evenings.
